Um grupo de artistas de Oakland voltados para a tecnologia deu início seu hackathon inaugural do décimo primeiro mês de junho Esta semana, um evento de tecnologia que visa mudar a forma como a arte é descoberta e vista em suas comunidades através das lentes do século XXI.
Um muralista local está encontrando uma nova maneira de apresentar seu trabalho.
Anoitece depois de um longo dia de trabalho. Timothy B está em um espaço onde um spray de tinta adiciona outro toque de criatividade ao seu mural.
“Quando você está na parede, nada atrás de mim, nada ao meu redor importa tanto quanto o que estou fazendo na minha frente”, explicou o artista.
O muralista de Oakland diz que suas árvores são uma lembrança dos danos causados no passado e um chamado para consertar o que está quebrado.
“Deixe-me dar vida a essas árvores, mais do que você imagina”, disse Timothy B.
Seu último trabalho se tornará uma tela para tecnólogos convergindo em Oakland para o décimo primeiro hack.
Usando ferramentas e aplicativos de realidade aumentada, o mural do nativo de Oakland na Oakland International High School ganhará um novo formato durante o evento.
“Quero que as pessoas fiquem totalmente imersas na peça, mesmo que seja pelo telefone. Como seria, certo?” perguntou Timóteo B.
O Juneteenth Hackathon está usando realidade aumentada para transformar a forma como a arte é acessada.
Damien McDuffie é o fundador da Terminal Preto, um aplicativo que ele desenvolveu para combinar tecnologia e arte. Ele colaborou com Timothy B em 2020 para apresentar seu primeiro mural de realidade aumentada dos pais fundadores dos Panteras Negras.
“Você pode olhar ao redor da nossa cidade e não verá nenhuma representação deles”, disse McDuffie.
Huey Newton e Bobby Seale podem ser vistos do outro lado da rua do Departamento de Polícia de Oakland.
McDuffie adicionou contexto histórico com discursos e áudio que podem ser acessados apontando um telefone ao passar.
“Você já sabe como fazer isso há algum tempo. Agora vamos trazer isso aqui e apresentá-lo de outra maneira”, disse McDuffie.
Newton e Seale de repente “ganham vida”. É um exemplo de como apresentar uma comunidade de artistas a uma plataforma onde traços de criatividade digital podem ser adicionados.
“Queremos que mais pessoas possam assumir isso e contar suas histórias a partir de suas perspectivas e criar novas maneiras de contar histórias em AR”, disse McDuffie.
É um passo para aproximar mais empreendedores, visionários e artistas negros do futuro da realidade aumentada, da inteligência artificial e da tecnologia.
“Quando você abre a tecnologia através da arte, você também abre a oportunidade para a diversidade no espaço”, disse McDuffie.
Timothy B será um dos artistas presentes no Juneteenth Hackathon, ampliando as possibilidades de trazer mais vida e olhos para ver sua mensagem através de seu trabalho, amplificado pela tecnologia.
“Às vezes é estilo livre. Vem de dentro”, disse Timothy B.
Trabalhando com galerias e museus, McDuffie diz que adicionar elementos digitais à arte física aumenta o seu valor e a probabilidade de venda.
Antes de experimentar a arte em realidade aumentada, seu melhor trabalho foi vendido por US$ 250. Mas depois de adicionar elementos de RA às suas peças, McDuffie diz que algumas peças foram vendidas por dez vezes esse valor.
